Beginner's Corner

The Beginner’s Corner is a dedicated space for those new to calligraphy to practice skills and learn about the tools needed in an open and stress-free environment. There will be  instructors on hand to help with basic calligraphy concepts. Nibs, inks, nib holders and paper will be available to test and purchase. Instructors will include:

Molly will be signing her newly released book Mastering Modern Calligraphy. Copies will be available for sale.


Molly is credited as a driving force behind the modern calligraphy movement and achieved renown for her book, 'Modern Calligraphy: Everything You Need to Know to Get Started in Script Calligraphy'. In 2016 Molly founded Calligrafile.com, a curated database of resource links and products for calligraphers, hand lettering artists, type enthusiasts, and creative freelancers. Workshops

For the first time we will be offering semi-private workshops with seasoned instructors. This is a great opportunity to sharpen your skills and learn from teachers traveling to Southern California just for this event. Most workshops are limited to 30 students and under. 


Entrance to CalligraFair is included with the purchase of any workshop that takes place during the event.

Old Town Monrovia is a quaint little town à la the delightful Stars Hollow of Gilmore Girls fame. We love being a part of this community and supporting friends and neighbors. 

 

Directions

Monrovia is located off the 210 and 605 freeways, about 30 miles east of Los Angeles. Click here to find directions from your home to ours.

 

Parking

Weekends can be busy in Old Town so please allow for time to find parking. Street parking is available, but usually limited to 90 minutes. There are several free public parking lots nearby with 3 hour and 8 hour parking options. Keep an eye on the signs, we don’t want you to get a ticket!
