Q. What trend setting things do you see happening in 2012?
A. Bold patterns and bright colors. I love that people are becoming more playful with thier invitations. It is so fun to spice things up with unexpected pops of color or patterns in hidden places.
Q. What is your favorite invitation you’ve designed for SOP?
A. A vintage type inspired invitation that is both modern and retro (it will be making its appearance on the website shortly).

Welcome back and a happy new year. We hope you all brought in the new year surrounded by family, friends and tons of champagne! It’s not a celebration until you’re sipping on some bubbly! This is a big year for us and the next few weeks will be a huge milestone for us as well. If you’ve been following us, then you’re all too aware that our website is launching later this month. I’m terrible at drawing. Absolutely terrible. Just the other day at the SoP offices we were chatting about the fact that some people are just naturally born with the ability to draw or be artisitc. At SoP we are lucky enough to be surrounded by very talented individuals including our very own, Katherine Long. Something about this time of year makes traditions particularly significant.
Maybe it has to do with the winding down of the year, a time when you want to be around those people that make your life more meaningful. If you ask someone what kind of things their family does around the holidays you’re bound to get a different answer from almost everyone. There are the grandma visiting families, the ones that make and eat tamales, the families that eat sufganiot and say, “chello.”
