Smitten on Paper at SmogShoppe
The other day, I had the chance to visit Lia Lafreniere, the venue director at SmogShoppe. SmogShoppe is tucked away on Gallery Row and is just as artsy as its neighboring buildings. Outside and in, beautiful succulents and Southern California plant life line the walls, which have been designed by Woolly Pockets. Seriously, the entire place just gives off cool vibes.
But SmogShoppe isn’t just hip. It’s also one of the most eco-friendly buildings in California and the United States. Solar panels line the roof, providing all the energy the building needs to keep it cool during summers and warm for winters.
What was once an actual 1980′s smog-check stop has quickly become the quirkiest venue in town. When I asked Lia about the typical couple who hosts their wedding at SmogShoppe, she said, “We have a really eclectic group of clients who are drawn to the creativity of the space and want to add their own unique flair. We also have many clients with guests flying in from around the world. They want to give them a quintessential California experience and SmogShoppe hits that mark.”
When I saw all the lush greenery, I immediately thought that Smitten on Paper’s Sweet Succulent Wedding Invitations would be absolutely perfect for this one-of-a-kind venue because after all, you can never have too many succulents.
