Ten years ago I started a small online business selling table favors and custom wedding invitations. Trust me in the early 2000’s this was not a common thing. As time went by our mini business slowly became an invitation line offered in retail stores all over the US.  Now a decade has past, a new design team is in place and new website is about to be born. Smitten on Paper will launch January 2012 with custom stationery & invitations for all life’s celebrations. As we eagerly await our grand launch please enjoy our little blog which will be a home to great ideas and inspiration, including DIY projects, real love stories, contests and giveaways!

Let’s get started with a few introductions.

Q: What trend setting things do you see happening in 2012?
A: The rebirth of gold and brass.

Q: What is your favorite invitation you’ve designed for SOP?
A: I really like the simple design of “sweet innocence” (see below) with a fancy die cut twist.

Q: What do you hope to bring to our readers?
A: I hope introduce you to something new everyday.

Q: What is your current obsession?
A: Hand lettering.

Q: What three things do you have with you on a daily basis?
A: 1. Burt’s Bees lip balm (an absolute must!) 2. Calculator 3. Ruler

Q: What are on the top shelves of your inspiration library right now?
A: The new SOP design team! Their excitement for creativity is contagious.

Q: What is one piece of advice you would offer to a young designer/artist?
A: Designers are passionate so do what you love – success will follow.

Q: What is the most glamorous thing you own?
A: Chandelier above my bathtub – I brought it back as carry on luggage from the International Furniture Show in NY.

Q: What do you love about wedding invitations, designing wedding invitations?
A:  A wedding invitation is the first peek into a magical celebration of love and friendship.  The wedding invitation is very special. I love being a part of that!
