Calligraphy Classes for February and March

If you’re interested in learning calligraphy, thinking of starting your own business, or just like to try something new – this class is for you. This class is truly meant for beginners – if you’ve never picked up a calligraphy pen before, you’ll want to take this class! Lauren will go over the basics, including dipping your pen in ink, understanding ink flow and pressure, basic script letter forms, and developing your own lettering style.
Plus, there will be brunchy treats and refreshments! (think donuts and mimosas)

Attendees will practice writing techniques in modern calligraphy with a dip pen and ink. Students will go over all the basic strokes, lettering and words.
For this workshop, students are required to be familiar with the pointed pen. Students must know how to create shaded (thick) strokes and hairline (thin) strokes, and transition from thick to thin and vice versa.
Here’s what they will be covering in class:
– a review of the fundamental concepts of Copperplate script (proportions, slant, shades, ovals, etc.)
– the basic strokes of the uppercase letters and drill exercises
– every uppercase letter (A-Z)
