Meet the Design Team – Part 3

Q: What trend setting things do you see happening in 2012
A: People who aren’t designers are getting more and more savvy about design.  Which is so exciting, and really opens up the door for more contemporary and interesting work.

Q: What is your favorite invitation you’ve designed for SOP?
A:
It’s a kind of sweet country-feel invite that could work for a barn wedding or a modern wedding.

Q: What do you hope to bring to our readers?
A: Showcase interesting and new ways to bring design into your special occasions and life.  And, {of course} lots o’ freebies for you all!

Q: What is your current obsession?
A: Hand painted signs and typography

Q: What three things do you have with you on a daily basis?
A: Green hankie with white trim, shea butter hand cream, and more often than not, wearing my trusty wooden clogs.

Q: What are on the top shelves of your inspiration library right now?
A: I keep going back to The Selby constantly.  Not only are the spaces and photography inspiring but it optimizes having a lifestyle with personality and beauty.

Q: What is one piece of advice you would offer to a young designer/artist?
A: Well, i am a young designer so i’d like some advise please!

From life so far: do what you love, and be unapologetically passionate about it.

Q: What are the 4 most glamorous things you own?
A: Bright red tiffany’s pen, a tiny silk satchel with gold spun into it, black cocktail dress with beading on top and grandma’s 1950’s cat eye ray bans.

Q: what do you love about wedding invitations, designing wedding invitations?

A: Everything. Paper goods are a beautiful medium for all sorts of creative exploration.  Then you add in the couple who has their own story, and personalities and you get to collaborate with them.  Cherry on top: having the guests get this envelope in the mail holding a beautiful surprise that is your wedding invitation. It’s the little things.
