Spring is the season of renewal, and a celebration of beginning again. What better time to learn something new? Brush lettering is everywhere these days, and is such a fun, accessible way to add beautiful touches to everything from your gallery wall to your summer table. Making together is a time honored way to connect, relax, and relish in the joy of putting brush to paper!
With plenty of time for one-on-one instruction in this 3-hour workshop, you’ll get comfortable lettering with a paint brush, connecting letters into words & phrases, and creating a lettered piece from concept to execution. You’ll also make a cake banner and place cards (using her favorite table styling trick), for use at all of your summer soirees.
Materials are all included for you to take home to continue your practice: brush, ink, palette, glass water vessel, watercolor pad, and practice sheets.
This class is for students who want to improve their Copperplate script and trouble shoot common issues.
In this intensive bootcamp, Calligraphy Companion will focus mainly on the details of Copperplate script (e.g. slant, oval forms, letter proportions and ratios, shades, hairlines, etc.) and the methods for achieving uniformity in those facets. Technical aspects of practice such as pen and paper angles, pen grip, tine movement, squaring tops and bottoms of stems, etc. will also be discussed in this class.
Each student will have one-on-one time with the instructors that is catered to his or her needs.
REQUIREMENTS: To get the most out of this bootcamp, they recommend that students have some knowledge and experience with Copperplate script, such as basic letter structures of both uppercase and lowercase.
In this 3-hour class, you will learn how to gain confidence with the brush, how to create a brush-lettering style and the steps to take a piece from concept to finalized piece. Nicole demonstrates how to transition to combining the letters into words, how to create/define your own style and how to blend colors to create an ombre look.
With the small class environment and Nicole’s teaching style, each student will receive one-on-one attention and individual help.
All supplies in a custom wooden box: 36 color watercolor palette, pad of paper that Nicole has found is best for scanning/creating work, 2 brushes, jar of white and gold ink and the booklet of information with Nicole’s lettering style and lesson plan.

In this 3-hour class, we will learn the basics of watercolor and will go onto painting fun floral designs! We will first go over tools that the instructor prefers to use then cover different watercolor techniques. Once we’ve gone through the material, students will practice making watercolor strokes and washes before going onto painting flowers and leaves. At the end of this class, you will be able to leave with your finished watercolor floral painting, own set of painting supplies and a fun new skill set that can be used for future projects! Each student will take home a watercolor starter kit, 13 page worksheet and a floral watercolor print for inspiration.
